What We Do Best
CCS have been providing tech support for business accounting software since 1978. Our experience is next to none.
We have chosen three solutions shown below as the cornerstones of our business. Two of the three we selected for one simple reason: they could be easily modified.
CCS president Mike O’Brien says: “I have probably installed and setup 500 companies since the 70’s. After about 10 years I realized that most comapines found a feature or two (or 20) missing, no matter which accounting software they chose. This makes sense. America is known for its ingenuity and creativity. Owners and CEOs usually like to run their company a tad different from their competitors. Seemed like most companies have something unique that a canned package couldnt do. No package can (or ever will be) able to be EVERYTHING to every business. Every business has their own logistical twists and unique needs. The answer? . . . . install software that is open source. That is, the source code comes with it, so if necessary, any programmer can add the missing features or report or export or function that the customer can think of.”
Hence CCS recommends OSAS and AddOn for any business that believes they have a unique need that can’t be easily met with a plugin or add-on app. The ability to easily modify the code is built into these two platforms.
Traverse is a 100% Microsoft-based product for those that do not want any proprietary modules on their system. Although it is a full-featured, very robust package, it can also be modified. But the cost for changes or additions is much more and the development time is longer.
Here are CCS’ three solutions for enterprise level and small business software. Click on any to be taken to the summary of functions back on the Home Page.
The Benefits of VoIP for Business
If you are still paying high phone bills each month, it’s time to switch to VOIP.
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a type of technology that allows its users to make calls using the broadband Internet rather than the conventional or analog phone system. VoIP works by converting sound into digital voice communication and then transferring it through Internet broadband. So if you are using a VoIP telephone system, you are basically using the Internet to make phone calls. Using a VoIP system has several benefits for many businesses.
The cost of using a VoIP telephone is much cheaper than using a conventional phone. Making long distance phone calls are also cheaper when using a VoIP provider.
The convenience and comfort provided by a VoIP telephone system is available all over the world. Using any broadband connection, you can log in to your VoIP telephone, and you will get a dial tone. Regardless of where you are, if you have Internet access, there should not be any problems in terms of costs and connections. VoIP systems are also accessible via email or while you are traveling. Simply take your headset or IP phone, and you can contact staff or clients with a low cost call.
With a VoIP system, you can still use your conventional phone and a VoIP converter or VoIP telephone adapter. A VoIP converter looks like a USB memory stick, which you can easily plug onto any computer. A VoIP converter will sense signals that are emanating from traditional or analog phones, and such signals will be converted to digital data that can be routed over the Internet. A computer must be turned on for the service to work. A VoIP system will also allow you to acquire your own VoIP number, so no matter where you are traveling to, just as long as you have a high speed Internet connection, you are capable of receiving phone calls to your same number.
Aside from making phone calls, you can also conduct videoconferencing calling through your VoIP phone. This allows you to stay in touch with your co-workers and clients to discuss important deals, affairs, meetings, files, documents, agendas, no matter where you are. Even while you are abroad attending to meetings, you still have the capacity to attend other important meetings in the home office without having to worry about being physically present.
CCS knows Business Basic. SInce the 1970’s we have been coding and maintaining legacy Business Basic software. That includes:
BBx, Pro5 and Vpro5 from Basis International. We specialize in older OSAS and Addon Software.
Need an old legacy BBx program unencrypted? No problem. We can do it. The BBX and Pro5/Vpro5 language from Basis International have the ability to “protect” a user from viewing source code of any program, by saving it in “protected” mode (i.e. encrypted). This is done using the SAVEP command. Once saved this way, the program can always be executed but never again can the source code be changed or viewed (or at least that is what many believe).
Some software developers do this for security or anti-piracy reasons.
It is not generally known, but it is possible to un-encrypt such a protected program. CCS has that ability, which we only provide under dire circumstances, and only to companies and/or individuals who can convince us that the source code belongs to them and that the unprotected version is lost or not available.
Very few other companies can provide this service.
If you are a programmer or end-user who has need of un-encrypting a bbx program, please call the CCS tech support department to discuss.
